Barthel Plays Pro Saturday Night!

The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, an affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes and the San Antonio Rampage, have signed defenseman Clayton Barthel to a standard player’s contract.

Barthel, 20, recently completed his overage season with the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League and registered eight goals and 18 points in 65 games to finish third among Rockets’ defensemen in scoring in 2006-07. A native of Kelowna, British Columbia, Barthel was selected by the Washington Capitals in Round Three (#88 overall) at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He tallied 25 goals, 56 assists, and 452 penalty minutes in 327 games over five seasons in the WHL between Kelowna and the Seattle Thunderbirds.

In a separate transaction, the RoadRunners have released defenseman Mat Snesrud. Snesrud, 30, notched four assists in 13 games after signing a free agent contract on Feb. 18.

Phoenix returns to US Airways Center at 7:11 p.m. Saturday as they welcome the Fresno Falcons in the 2006-07 regular season home finale. It will be “Fan Appreciation Night” and the first 2,000 fans will receive a 2006-07 Phoenix RoadRunners Team Poster.

Individual game tickets for the 2006-07 regular season start as low $7 in the lower section and can be purchased at the US Airways Center Box Office and at all Ticketmaster outlets including Ticketmaster.com. Information on season tickets, half-season packages, and flex plans are available by calling (602) 462-GOAL.

hocus lopez you had me concerned. I hadn't heard from you in a long time, and thought I may have scared you off with a comment.
Nice to see you are still posting a comment or two now and then.
Glad to see your alive and kicking despite the season at an end!!

Nice to see you visiting again, and I'm sure the trip was a blast. A little R and R sounds awesome. I am going to get some of that in over the next 5 months.
