Two Rockets Named

Jamie Benn and Tyler Myers have been named to the 38 man selection camp roster for the Canadian World Junior Team.
The training camp begins December 11th in Ottawa.
A total of 18 WHL players will attempt to make this years squad, with 11 coming from the Ontario Hockey League and only 5 from the QMJHL.
Luke Schenn, Blake Comeau, Josh Gorges, Shea Weber, Brett McLean and Chuck Kobasew are just a few Rockets to wear Canadian colours.

The big surprise of the morning was Colin Long failing to make the U-S Junior Team. Only 5 WHL players were named to the team, including Spokane Chiefs Mitch Wahl, Drayson Bowman and Tyler Johnson. Seattle's Jim O'Brien and Jonathon Blum of Vancouver were also named to the team. Is Long not better than Johnson or O'Brien?

Are you kidding me, Long was passed over. Long has put up better numbers than all of those players the last two years (including the USA Hockey eval camp). Decisions like that explain the lack of success USA hockey has had on the international level.

Best of luck to Meyers and Benn. I hope they make the team, and their country proud.

Should Colin Long consider becoming a Canadian citizen? Unfortunatley this is the last year he would have been able to play at this tournament so its a mute point now. I wonder if Myers would have made the U.S Team had he not become a Canadian citizen?
